Are we Bostonians?
After nearly a year and a half, a hard winter and several jobs, I can confidently say I don’t feel very much like a Bostonian. Sarah doesn’t either.
It could be because we live in Marlborough, which isn’t very close to Boston Proper.
It could be because we haven’t been inside the city since October, save to use the airport.
It could be because — except for my jobs and our doctors — we have almost zero connection to Massachusetts.
It’s really for all these reasons and more.

Sadly, this is how I feel so far after my move. I do not feel comfortable calling myself a Bostonian. I don’t think I’ve earned it.
I moved to Boston this summer for work, in a dream position in a dream field. I find myself robotically going through life here. Work, groceries, and home, that’s my entire life. I don’t know what could connect me to Mass and Boston if it’s not living and working here. But I just don’t feel it. At all. Boston just happens to be the backdrop for the commute.
